Tikkis in a blanket

posted in: Party Appetizers, Snacks | 2

If, like me, you always wanted to try the tempting “Pigs in a Blanket”, but couldn’t because of the beef/pork sausage link, then you don’t have to hold yourself back any more.

I have always seen this famous appetizer at kids birthday parties, tailgate parties, Superbowl parties and Graduation parties but always wondered about the taste. So I figured why not replace the meat with out good old Aloo/potato tikki and roll it in the crescent rolls.

It tasted so good and looked so cute, it could easily have passed for out Batata vada! The buttery taste of the crescent rolls and the aloo tikki are perfect. To give it an Indian taste, serve with Green Chatni or Habaner pepper Chatni.

Can we make this ahead and warm in conventional oven at 300 and serve ?

Hi Shamile, yes, you can make these ahead of time and warm it in a oven and serve. I usually make the tikkis ahead of time and roll them in croissants just when I want to serve. Please share and let me know how it turns out when you make them ahead and warm them.
