Bored of the traditional Moong dal vade, I wanted to mix in a fun ingredient to give a boost of flavor. Looked in my fridge and saw Pesto, and thought why not try a fusion of Indian and Italian!
So I mixed in the Pesto to the batter and it gave it such a nice Green color! I was skeptical at first as to how it would taste!
Turned out so much better than my expectations! I put 1 tbsp to begin with, though on hind sight, I could have added more, because I love Pesto in everything, sandwiches, salads, pastas and just on toasted bread!
Enjoy the fusion appetizer and wow your family and friends with a new avatar of moong dal pakore/vade!
