Provide relief to aching muscles and joints with this home made, all natural oil made with herbs and spices. The base of this oil is a combination of sesame and mustard oil. I grew up in Kolkata India and mustard oil is widely used there for everything from cooking, to applying on hair as well as a remedy for aches and pains. You can read about the benefits of mustard oil in this article by Dr Axe. Indian holistic healthcare was part of growing up- Home made cough syrup or kara was given for cough and cold, Fennel and carom detox water for bloating and home remedies for chronic constipation.
I have changed the recipe of this oil by using sesame oil as well. Ayurveda extensively uses sesame oil for self massages as well as relief from pain. You can read more about the benefits of sesame oil here. Garlic, cinnamon and turmeric are known for their anti inflammatory properties and are important ingredients of this home made, natural herbal oil. Arthritis.org recommends the use of these spices to reduce arthritic pain.
The addition of camphor or capoor as its commonly called in India, provides a cooling effect when applied. Read more about camphor and its benefits for pain relief in this article. Every time I apply this oil, I can’t help but compare it to ICYHOT cream, the oils along with the garlic and spices like cloves, carom seeds, cinnamon provide the heat and the camphor provides a cooling sensation and together they work at providing relief from pain
I prefer to apply this oil at night and leave it overnight. It does have a pretty strong smell because of the garlic! I didn’t want the turmeric to stain my clothes and bedding, so I didn’t add any turmeric to the oil, but it would be beneficial to add some turmeric as well to the oil. I had a lot of pain in my leg and foot and have found relief after using this oil. I can finally wear heels after almost 3 years of wearing sneakers and crocs! yaay!

I have had it on my countertop for a year. It’s still good. If you are in a hot humid climate maybe you can keep half in fridge.
Bikram Rai
as garlic and camphor has very strong smell,Can these ingredients be infused in cold oil instead of heating.
Aanchal Gupta
Hi Bikram, I know they are strong smelling, camphor can be infused but garlic should be heated to get the full benefit.

You are missing ginger, ginger and turmeric alone heal your pain. Use heat and after one hour use ice, for me ice cold shower for 20 minutes help. No Doctor could heal my pain for 20 years i have tried every thing. Ginger and turmeric may pass throw the liver and transormed easily to non medical compound. Our gut also dont absorb turmeric. Turmeric you should use a kg in oil to get the medicine out of it. Medicine is called curcumin and to buy curcumin powder is expensive. You only need 20 minutes to an hour for oil to absorb if you are using heat. In kotakal aryavydyashala they call it kizhi. My pain was muscular and my muscle dont even heal after 20 minutes walk. If i clean my house i was in bed for two weaks. Now i can ride my bike 10 km a day. I am also a depression patient for 30 years and i have tried all medication in the world. Now this therapy made me live normal life. Only two drugs, some times i add clove oil. But two king of all drug is ginger and turmeric.

Thanks for sharing your input and happy to hear that you have healed and able to lead a normal life.
