I started my blog, two years back on Ganesh Chaturthi day. My first blog post was about making a Biodegradable, ecofriendly Ganpati with Atta/wholewheat flour. What better way to start my blog than with a whole post dedicated to Ganpati. Of course no Ganpati celebrations are complete without his favorite sweet-laddos. So of course my second post was…. you guessed it Besan ke laddoo. With it being Ganesh Chaturthi again, it was laddoo time once more! With only two ingredients and ten minutes from start to fininsh, these coconut laddoos are the easiest recipe ever. If you are looking for a sugar free laddoo recipe then do check out my Chocolate, dates and nut laddoos. These have no added sugar, fat or dairy.

With only two ingredients, the coconut laddoo recipe, is by far the easiest recipe ever. If you follow my blog then you know, how I love easy, peasy quick recipes. Some of the other desserts that are ready in a jiffy are my- Instant Rabri,Kalakand-three Ingredient and one pan Microwave Recipe, Mango Mousse- No Eggs, gelatin or Agar Agar  Instant Badaam Barfi from Almond Flour and Instant Shahi Tukra.

You can make variations by adding different food color and giving it a very, bright colorful look. If you do decide to add food color, divide the dough into separate bowls and add the food color of choice. Bind the colored balls/laddoos and roll them in coconut. It makes a beautiful, colorful dessert for Holi when made with different food colors.

Coconut Laddoo-Made with Desiccated Coconut and Condensed Milk

Aanchal Gupta

Dessicated coconut and condensed milk combine to make a very easy Coconut Laddoo that’s ready in under 10 minutes.

Prep Time 2 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 12 minutes

Servings 12 -14 laddoos

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup Desiccated Coconut plus 1/2 cup for rolling
  • 7 oz/200 gms/ half can of Condensed Milk
  • A pinch of elaichi powder/Green cardamom powder

Instructions

  • in a pan, over medium low heat, dry roast coconut and cardamom powder till warm. Stir continuously.
  • Add condensed milk and mix till the mixture starts coming together, about 5-7 minutes
  • Grease hands lightly and roll the dough into small balls/laddoos
  • Put 1/2 cup coconut in a small bowl and roll the laddoos/balls in the dry coconut.
  • Enjoy delicious coconut laddoos

Notes

While roasting the coconut, be careful that the color of the coconut does not change. If the dough seems too loose, you may add more coconut, keep in mind though that it does set tight. If dough seems tight, add more condensed milk, adding a tablespoon at a time. You can add some food coloring just before shaping the laddoos into balls. Rolling the laddoos in coconut makes it look very appealing and attractive, though you can leave it as is if desired.

These look amazing and I want to try them. Two questions….can shredded coconut be substituted for dessicated? Also, is the calorie and fat content for one Laddoo? I can’t fathom 1062 cal and 57 g fat for one piece. Is that for the whole batch? Thank you.

Hi Mary, I haven’t tried with shredded coconut, but it should work. Calories are for the whole batch. Thank you. Please let me know how it turns out with shredded coconut. Would love your feedback.
