Bread Katori Chaat

Bread Katori Chaat-An easy ,healthy, make ahead appetizer that uses everyday ingredients and tastes as great as it looks. White bread is rolled thin, cut out and baked to get bowls or katoris which can be filled with any filling of choice.

Bread Katori Chaat is a popular appetizer in India, but the traditional method requires dough made from scratch which is then deep fried, sort of like a taco bowl!  This is such an easy and healthy variation as we use bread which is simply rolled out and baked!

These bread bowls/katoris can be made a couple of days ahead of time ,just stack them up in an air tight container, once they cool completely. They look spectacular and are so versatile as they can be stuffed with just about any filling of choice-for healthy filling use sprouted moong like I did. Make mini taco bowls, fill them with pasta salad, buffalo chicken, hot dips….

The bread from the sides can be dried up to make bread crumbs so no part of the bread is wasted. Make this show stopper of an appetizer for your next party.
